Give us thy songs, O thou Maker of music!
Teach us to sing, O Thou Bringer of joy!
Till nothing can silence the notes of our triumph
And naught our rejoicing destroy!

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah

Psalm 32:7
Nancy's journey with cancer lasted 13 1/2 years. During more than half of the journey her cancer was rated as 4th stage metastatic disease. If you knew her at all, the video and other links below will find you reaching for the Kleenex box. She was, in all her frailty, a tower of incredible strength. Through it all she prayed, Lord help me to not loose my voice and always be able to sing to you. - Danny

Video Tribute

This touching and powerful video was produced by the Weeks children cooperating to create a video presentation for the memorial service of their mother. They hovered for a week over 40 hours of home video tapes and thousands of album pictures. About 15 hours before the service was to begin, a computer error broke the project. They worked in shifts through the night to recompile the project before the service, barely finishing in time.

Maranatha's Essay

Maranatha wrote this thoughtful, touching essay after the service. Describing her Mom in beautiful endearing terms, helping me to more appreaciate the value that a consistent unconditional love has in our lives and the eternal victory that resurrection declares.

Jordan's Essay

Jordan wrote this glowing prose that I found lying on the kitchen table the night before the service. It helped me understand what a great work a small tradition can have on our outlook. Reading it during the service gave us an example of the children's devotion to their mother:

Alan's Observation

While editing the videos, Alan Benjamin discovered a sequence of his mother reciting a poem about a weaver to young Sean who had started a small weaving project. Recorded nine days before she announced to the siblings that there was going to be a new baby in the family, Nancy was aware of the diagnoses of breast cancer also, but probably had not yet shared that part of her story with her children. Alan looked up the words and emailed them to me. "Plan of the Master Weaver" ---Anonymous
